ENPASAR: Bali’s scout movement needs revitalization to encourage the young generation to excel in their future lives, says a government official.
The movement could be a strategic program for increasing young people’s sense of nationality, Dewa Nyoman Semadi, the Bali Chapter of the Indonesian Scout Movement (Pramuka) chief Dewa Nyoman Semadi said during its 49th anniversary last weekend.
Young people currently face huge challenges that might affect their character building processes, he said. Pramuka activities assist young people by supporting their self-confidence and instilling the values of teamwork, honesty, hard work and a sense of independence, Semadi added. — JP
