Susno to attend Constitutional Court hearing

Former National Police chief detective Comr. Gen. Susno Duadji will give his testimony Thursday at the Constitutional Court’s hearing on the judicial review filed by Susno on the Witness and Victim Protection Law in Jakarta.
Ari Yusuf Amir, one of Susno's lawyers, confirmed that Susno would attend the hearing, which was scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m.
The court, Ari told kompas.com, has ordered the South Jakarta Prosecutor’s Office to take Susno to the hearing.
Susno has been detained since being accused of accepting Rp 500 million (US$55,000) in bribes from Sjahril Djohan, a suspected case broker, to “settle” a fraud case at a Riau-based arowana fish breeding company, PT. Salmah Arowana Lestari.
In the judicial review, the plaintiffs believe that Susno is a whistle-blower deserving protection rather than detention as a suspect in a case Susno himself disclosed.
The call for a judicial review was made after the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) failed to get Susno out of police detention and into a safe house due to differences in interpretation of the law between the agency and police.
