Jimly calls ICW a “spoiled brat”

JAKARTA: One man looking to lead the nation’s antigraft body had harsh words on Thursday for the Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW), after it issued a lackluster evaluation of potential candidates.

“ICW is a spoiled brat. They were beaten up and earned a visit from the President, so they feel indulgent,” said Jimly Asshiddiqie, who wants to be the next chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

On Wednesday, Jimly said ICW had obtained its data from Google.

Both statements were made in response to an ICW report that said all seven candidates for the KPK’s top job, including Jimly, a former Constitutional Court chief justice, were “problematic”. — JP
