JAKARTA: Vice President Boediono said Thursday that a proposal to build a nuclear power plant in Indonesia was still on the table although he could not say when or where it may be built.
“We will continue trying. Someday, somewhere we will build the nuclear power plant. This is one of the dreams we will pursue,” he said Thursday, as quoted by detik.com.
Nuclear energy was an inevitable alternative for the nation’s power supply, he said. “There is a risk, I know. But there is always a risk. Coal poses a risk, and natural gas, as well,” he added. — JP
