Journalist association demands probe on reporter death in Maluku

The Makasar chapter of the Independence Journalist Alliance (AJI) has demanded that police investigate the death of a TV journalist in Tual, Maluku.

Ridwan Salamu, a contributor for SunTV and RCTI Ambon, was found dead during a civilian clash in Tual on Saturday.

"The state has failed to provide safety for journalists who fight for the people and human rights," Ana Rusli, chairperson of AJI Makassar, said Sunday.
