Aceh police have arrested two men who have been wanted for their alleged role in a robbery in the North Sumatra capital of Medan last year.
Spokesman for the North Sumatra police Sr. Comr. Baharuddin Djafar told a media conference on Monday evening the two suspects, both civilians, were nabbed in East Aceh earlier in the day.
Baharuddin said the two men were definitely not part of 16 people who robbed CIMB Niaga Bank office in Medan and ran away with Rp 1.5 billion in cash last week.
“But we are seeking a connection between the suspects arrested with the gang of bank robbers,” Burhanuddin said.
