Jakarta Governor Fauzi Bowo has urged the police’s laboratory and forensic department, the Gegana bomb squad, as well as state-run gas distributor PT PGN to thoroughly investigate an underground blast that occurred on Jl. Raya Cikini, Central Jakarta, Tuesday morning.
There were eight blasts along the road, kompas.com reported.
“I want a proper investigation conducted by each party involved,” Fauzi said Tuesday after visiting the explosion site.
He had declined to comment earlier, simply suggesting all parties avoided making predictions on the cause of the explosion before an official statement was released.
“Please, do not smoke around the explosion site,” he added.
