Integrated customs service zone inaugurated

Coordinating Minister for the Economy Hatta Rajasa visited Jababeka industrial estate in Cikarang in the West Java municipality of Bekasi on Saturday to inaugurate an integrated customs service zone.
The facility allows the existing seaport in the industrial estate to serve as a spoke or feeder port in the country, kompas.com reported. The facility, which is part of sweeping reforms introduced by the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, is expected to accelerate customs service for industry sector.
Based on Law No. 6/1968 on domestic investment, Jababeka industrial estate was designed as an industrial zone along with all its supporting facilities, including office buildings, housings, shopping centers, clean water, waste treatment, electricity and others.
Other top government officials expected to turn up for the inauguration of the service zone are Transportation Minister Freddy Numberi, Finance Minister Agus Martowardojo, Trade Minister Mari Elka Pangestu, Public Works Minister Joko Kirmanto, Industry Minister MS Hidayat, State-owned Enterprises Minister Mustafa Abubaka and Environment Minister Gusti Muhammad Hatta.
