Young man dies after being attacked by youngsters

JAKARTA: As many as 12 people attacked two young men on Jl. Ujung Plumpang Gang Masjid Al-Fairin in Koja, North Jakarta, on Friday.

The attackers approached on six motorcycles and attacked the victims with sharp weapons around midnight, the police report said.

“North Jakarta police findings show that the attackers acted out of revenge because one of their friends had previously been beaten by people from the victims’ neighborhood,” City Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Boy Rafli Amar said Friday.

One of the victims, Dedy Syah Iskandar, 20, died from a chest wound. His remains were taken to the RSCM General Hospital in Central Jakarta.

Another victim, Rialdi, 16, was treated at the Koja Hospital in North Jakarta. — JP
