Beaten Taufik brings team home empty-handed

The Indonesian team was headed home without any titles on Sunday after hopeful Taufik Hidayat lost to China’s Jin Chen 21-13, 21-15 at their final match in the 2010 Badminton World Championships held at the Pierre de Coubertin Stadium in Paris.

For world number four Chen, playing against world number five Taufik was not very intimidating. Chen has managed to beat Taufik three times out of the four matches they have played since the Macau Open Grand Prix Gold back in 2007.

The defeat added to Taufik’s mounting collection of disappointments as the 29-year-old former Olympian showed signs of decreasing stamina.
