State owned train operator Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) says it would provide special trains for motorcyclists and their motorbikes to go home during the upcoming Idul Fitri holidays.

The train would begin to serve 10 days before Idul Fitri, which is expected to fall on Sept. 10.

"The train will depart from Godang station, Kampung Bandan, Jakarta," KAI operation area I spokesman Mateta Rijalulhaq said as quoted by tempointeraktif.com on Sunday. "Two routes will be served by the train."

The first route the train would serve is Jakarta to Pasar Turi, Surabaya via cities in the north Java coast such as Semarang, Cepu, and Bojonegoro and the other route is Jakarta to Surabaya via cities in the south Java coast such as Yogyakarta, Solo, and Madiun.

The ticket price for a motorcyclist is Rp 43,500 (around US$5) for the north coast route, and Rp 33,500 for the south coast route. Each motorcycle would be charged around Rp 200,000 (US$22).
