President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will attend a gathering to break the fast at the National Police headquarters in South Jakarta on Thursday afternoon, a day after attending a similar event at the Indonesian Military (TNI) headquarters.
National Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Marwoto Soeto said the event was scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m.
Marwoto said he did not know, however, whether Yudhoyono would make any statement at the event.
On Wednesday, Yudhoyono made a televised speech at the Indonesian Military (TNI) headquarters, calling on people to refrain from any use of violence in response to a recent incident at the maritime border between Indonesia and Malaysia.
The President said acts of violence would only spark more violence and exacerbate the situation.
