DENPASAR: A Japanese citizen was demanded a six-month in jail for possessing and consuming marijuana.

Prosecutor Nunik Nurleli told the panel of judges at the Denpasar District Court that 43-year-old Hideki Kato used marijuana.

Bangli Psychiatric Hospital director Dr. Made Sugiarta previously testified that the defendant suffered from mental problems due to his reliance on marijuana. He added that Kato also suffered from nerve problems in his legs.

The police arrested Kato in Villa Kubu Dalung in Kuta last June. They found 4.5 grams of marijuana in his villa. — JP
