Jakarta transportation agency will ban trailer and container trucks from the streets of the capital for four days, starting on Monday, to facilitate holiday revelers who will leave the capital for their respective hometowns to celebrate Idul Fitri.
Head of the agency Udar Pristono said on Friday the ban would give no exception to trucks carrying export products, but those carrying fuels, cattle and basic commodities would be exempted.
“We have familiarized the policy to industry players and they understand the ban as it used to take effect in the previous years,” Pristono said as quoted by Antara news agency.
Truck owners who insist on entering Jakarta must seek special permits from the provincial transportation agency head, he added.
