JAKARTA: The United States Drugs Enforcement Administration (DEA) donated six motorcycles to the city police drug unit on Friday in appreciation of the unit’s work on exposing illegal drug traffickers.
“We are thankful for the city police efforts to combat drug dealers in Jakarta. We hope these motorcycles can be used for various operations,” US Embassy Regional Assistant for East Asia’s Security Peter Shigeta told reporters at a ceremony to hand over the donations.
Three Kawasaki Ninja SS units and three Yamaha Scorpion Z motorcycles were accepted by City Police Vice Chief Brig. Gen. I Putut Bayu Seno. — JP
