As many as 202 students of SMP Keluarga Kudus junior high
school in Kudus, Central Java, staged a peaceful act Saturday by writing friendship
letters to Malaysian students over a recent unfavorable relationship between
Indonesia and Malaysia.
“We are inviting Malaysian students to tighten our
friendship through these letters,” student Ardi Satya said as quoted by kompas.com.
Ardi said that he hoped both Indonesian and Malaysian
students could help settling the debate between two countries, especially over a
recent incident that saw Indonesian officers arrested by Malaysian authorities
in disputed waters off Riau Island.
