Bandung police are investigating a shooting incident involving minors, which took place inside the official residence of West Java governor Ahmad Heryawan on Jl. Pakuan on Friday afternoon.

One of the children suffered an accidental gunshot wound to his shoulder from an air rifle bullet and is being treated at Carolus Borromeus Hospital, a security guard at the governor’s residence told Antara on Saturday.

Bandung police chief Sr. Comr. Subriyanto said the police would not cover up the accident, which reportedly involved three schoolmates of one of the governor’s sons.

Sources said the shooting incident occurred as the governor’s son was attending a private course outside the house. One of the children apparently sneaked into the bedroom of the governor’s other son and found the air rifle.

“I don’t know what really happened as it took place so quickly. We rushed the child to the Borromeus Hospital immediately. He apparently hurt his shoulder,” one of the governor’s security guards said.
