State owned train operator PT Kereta Api Indonesia has operated eight extra trains to serve passengers for their Idul Fitri homecoming trips.
The eight additional trains are the Jakarta-Madiun Mantap Lebaran train, the Jakarta-Kutoarjo Bogowonto Lebaran train, the airconditioning Jakarta-Kutoarjo Bogowonto train, the Jakarta-Surabaya Kertajaya train, the Jakarta-Yogyakarta Senja Utama train, the Jakarta-Kutoarjo Sawunggalih train, the Jakarta-Cirebon express train, and the Jakarta-Cilacap Purwojaya Lebaran train.
Kompas.com reported the extra trains began to serve passengers on Saturday.
KAI Jakarta spokesman Mateta Rizalulhaq said more extra trains will operate on Sunday.
