Twenty-three arrested for torching police office

Police have arrested 23 suspects for allegedly setting fire to a police office in Rawasulu, South Sumatra.

"We have arrested 23 villagers. We need to collect more evidence," South Sumatra Police chief Insp. Gen. Hasyim Irianto said Sunday, as quoted by kompas.com.

He admitted that some villagers had been injured when police fired shots to disperse the crowd.

"We have taken care of the injured," he added.
