Malaysian authorities have arrested five more fishermen from Indonesia, a nongovernmental organization says.

"The arrest was conducted on Friday. They are now detained at Kampung Jawi Police Office, Malaysia," Riza Damanik, the secretary general of the People Coalition for Fisheries Justice (Kiara), said as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.

Riza said some fishermen who escaped the arrest said they believed that they were still fishing in Indonesian waters.

There was no quick response yet from the Indonesian embassy in Kuala Lumpur, he added.

"I don't know why the Indonesian embassy in Kuala Lumpur is always late. Every time there is an arrest, the Malaysian authorities are obliged to inform the Indonesian embassy as soon as possible," he said.
