As many as 183 participants across the country have registered for a digital startup contest known as Sparxup Awards (www.sparxup.com) for 2010, the organizer says.
Sparxup Awards committee chairman Herman Kwok said the organizer had set the registration deadline as Oct. 15 and was targeting to get 300 participants.
"So far, it looks good," Herman said Monday.
He said most of the registered participants were based in Greater Jakarta with some from Bandung and Yogyakarta.
Awards and prizes will be given to 24 winners in categories including best social networking site; best portal; best user-generated content; best use of technology; best e-commerce; best mobile; best WAP and best games.
The best rising star 2010 will receive a number of prizes including Rp 150 million (US$ 17,000) in cash, while the most promising startup 2010 will be given, among other prizes, Rp 50 million in cash.
