The Jakarta police announced on Friday they ticketed 280 people during the Idul Fitri eve parade on Thursday evening for various violations of the traffic regulation.
City Police Chief Insp. Gen. Timor Pradopo told reporters on Friday the traffic regulation offenders would be charged with violating the 2009 law on traffic and transportation.
According to the Traffic Management Center report, most of the offenders were motorcyclists, who hit the street without wearing helmets and participants of the parade aboard trucks and pick-up cars.
The Jakarta police deployed more than 1,000 officers and dozens of Mobile Brigade personnel to ease the traffic in 32 major intersections across the capital on Thursday evening.
