A medical team at Dr Wahidin Sudirohusodo Hospital in Makassar says two Russian fighter jet technicians diagnosed of alcohol poisoning are recovering.
The hospital’s director of medical service, Khalik Saleh, said Wednesday Sukhoi jet fighter technicians Andre Zaykay and Andre Spalov were already in a stable condition but would require a close observation.
“Their health condition is improving. We took Andre Zaykay to the cardiology care unit due to his unstable heart pulse, but now he is already stable,” Khalik said.
The medical team found samples of urine taken from the Russian pair did not show excessive alcohol content.
Khalik said the two technicians could leave the hospital in three days at the latest.
The two were rushed to the hospital Tuesday following the death of three other Russians, Sukhoi warranty team members Alexander Poltorak Meksandre, Sergei Voronin and Koronov Viktor Sapanov, on Monday.
The remains of the three foreigners will be flown back to Russia on Friday, Sultan Hasanuddin airbase commander Commodore Agus Supriatna said.
