Man arrested with 2.7 kilograms of marijuana

DENPASAR: Denpasar police have arrested an Indonesian man after seizing 2.7 kilograms of marijuana at his rented room in Sesetan area in Denpasar.
Denpasar police spokesman SG Sukawiyasa said the police had faced no difficulty in arresting 35-year-old Riyanto Sukmo Suprapto.
“He admitted that the marijuana belonged to him,” said Sukawiyasa who was accompanied by Ambariyadi Wijaya, the precinct’s narcotics beaureu chief.
Sukawiyasa said the police had received several reports from his neighbors who were suspicious of Suprapto’s activities.
Suprapto said he had bought 3 kilograms of marijuana for Rp 8 million (US$800) from a high-ranking drug dealer in Jakarta. He sold the drugs in smaller packages worth Rp 200,000 each.
“I sell marijuana to regular clients via telephone orders,” Su-prapto said. — JP
