Police target at least six people in Jakarta cemetery murders

West Jakarta Police said that they have narrowed down at least six people as suspects in the murder of a husband and wife at Tegal Alur cemetery in Kalideres.

“The actual perpetrators maybe less than six but it will all depends on the development of the investigation,” Kalideres Police chief investigator First Insp. Heru told news portal tempointeraktif.com on Friday.

Imin bin Ocik was found dead Wednesday from blunt force trauma to the head and his wife Umi had strangulation marks on her neck.

Police had said earlier there were indications the murders were committed by individuals seeking revenge.

Their bodies were discovered near a small shop they both ran and lived in, located in a cemetery.

The police also found Rp 4 million [US$440] in cash and jewelry inside the shop, an indication they said thet the perpetrators did not intend to rob the couple.
