President done screening police chief candidates

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has completed a selection process of candidate to replace current Police Chief Ge. Bambang Hendarso Danuri, a presidential spokesman said Saturday.

“[The President] only need to submit the name to the House of Representatives. God willing, he will have submitted the name by next week,” Julian Aldrin Pasha, the spokesman, told kompas.com.

Earlier, State Secretary Sudi Silalahi said that Yudhoyono will only submit one name for the National Police Chief post to the House of Representatives.

“There are always possibilities. It could be only one name submitted, but we can't be sure of that,” Julian said.|
