Forty-seven teachers in Tangerang awarded free haj pilgrimages

Tangerang municipal administration has awarded 47 school teachers a haj pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia this year.
“The trip to Mecca is a reward for the teachers based on their good performance and achievement in improving the quality of out education,” Tangerang deputy mayor Arief R. Wismansyah during a post-Idul Fitri gathering at the Al Azhom Mosque.
He said the teachers' performances were outstanding in the 2009 national examinations.
“Hopefully, the trip to Mecca will encourage other teachers to improve their performance in the following years,” he said.
