Bukit Barisan Military Command will keep military personnel on stand-by to aid Mount Sinabung eruption evacuee in Karo, North Sumatra, although authorities have lowered alert level in the area.

“Only some of them are withdrawn, the rest stay in Karo,” May. Gen. Leonardus JP Siegers, the military command chief, said Friday.

The military have posted 400 personnel to help evacuee and guard villages left during the volcanic eruption in late August.

The Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation Center (PVMBG) has lowered the volcano alert level and has allowed villagers living outside 3.5-kilometer radius from the volcano to come home.
