Dam breaks in Tangerang

Heavy rain that poured in Jakarta on Friday afternoon has caused Situ Sasak dam in Pamurang, South Tangerang to overflow and collapsed on early Saturday, the police have reported.

Jakarta Traffic Police reported that the water from the dam have inundated roads leading to Bumi Serpong Damai housing complex, but traffic was uninterrupted in Pamulang.

Police said there was no report of injury in the incident.

Residents going from Pamulang to Bumi Serpong Damai are advised to use alternative roads.
