6.5 magnitude earthquake shakes Maluku

An earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale shook Tual, Maluku, and surrounding islands around 7:12 p.m. on Sunday. There were no immediate reports on damages or casualties.
The quake’s epicenter was reportedly 138 kilometers northeast of Tual at a depth of 59-km below sea, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported.
No tsunami alert was issued.
