JAMBI: One hundred and thirty two elementary schools (SD) in Jambi are at risk of being closed down because of land ownership issues
AMBI: One hundred and thirty two elementary schools (SD) in Jambi are at risk of being closed down because of land ownership issues.
All of the schools were established between 1970 and 1980 as part of the central government’s expanded education campaign. “Almost 70 percent of them... have no clear ownership status,” Syhabuddin, the head of the local education agency, said.
In one case, Hotel Abadi has claimed it owns the land being used by state elementary school SDN 81, built in 1976, and has stated it plans to expand the hotel onto the land. — JP
