President instructs police and TNI to remain alert in Tarakan

President Susilo Bambang YUdhoyono has instructed police
officers and soldiers to remain alert and prevent any violence to recur in
Tarakan, East Kalimantan.
"We need them to prevent any violence that could spread
everywhere," Presidential spokesman Julian Aldrin Pasha said as quoted by
tempointeraktif.com on Thursday.
Julian said two battalions of the Indonesian Military had
been deployed to Tarakan to handle the violence.
"Soldiers and police officers must coordinate to deal
with the violence," he added.
President has thanked East Kalimantan Governor Awang Faroek
for his effort to create a peace treaty.
