Former justice and human rights minister Yusril Ihza Mahendra fulfilled the Attorney General’s Office’s summons on Friday for questioning in connection with an online graft case.
One of Yusril's lawyers, Mohammad Assegaf, said that Yusril answered all questions presented by prosecutors during the marathon questioning. State prosecutors gave Yusril one and a half hours of break.
"My client was very cooperative," Assegaf said.
During the break in the afternoon, Yusril told journalists that he had requested the AGO to summon a number of former ministers as well as former president Megawati Soekarnoputri.
Yusril also asked prosecutors to summon former Finance Minister Kwik Kian Gie and President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, who was the mining and energy minister when the case that implicates Yusril took place in 2001.
"Their testimonies as active officials at that time will be very helpful for investigators to see this case more clearly," Yusril said.
The interrogation ended at 7.30 p.m. but Yusril did not turn up.
When asked, Assegaf refused to confirm whether Yusril was detained.
Yusril has been named a suspect in an alleged corruption case involving an online registration service, run by a private company, at the Justice and Human Rights Ministry.
