One officer injured in North Sumatra gunfight

The National Police confirmed Saturday afternoon that one officer was injured in a shoot-out in Dolok Sagala village in Dolok Masihul regency earlier in the day, in which four members of an armed group were killed and two others arrested.
Police spokesman Insp. Gen. Iskandar Hasan told kompas.com that the officer, identified as Brig. Sugeng, suffered a gunshot wound on his right shoulder.
The police, backed up by the Detachment 88 counterterrorism squad, had raided the armed group in their hide-out. The operation to capture the gunmen, who are believed to be terrorists, began at 11 a.m. and lasted about two hours.
“Police confiscate one AK-56 rifle and four magazines,” Iskandar said.
Earlier in the day, the police captured a member of the armed group, identified as Robin Simanjuntak of Tanjung Morawa area. He told the police his gang was in possession of an M-16 and an AK-47 rifles and an FN pistol.
