Woods, Stricker still perfect as a team

A- A A+

The Americans have extended their lead at the Ryder Cup, getting another win from Tiger Woods and Steve Stricker.

Woods and Striker won their second match Saturday, routing Europe's Miguel Angel Jimenez and Peter Hanson 4-and-3 to help the U.S. build a 5-3 lead. The American duo is now 6-0 as a team, building on their perfect performance at the Presidents Cup.

Hunter Mahan and Zach Johnson gave the U.S. another point in alternate shot with a 2-up win over Italian brothers Francesco and Edoardo Molinari, winning the final two holes.

Ross Fisher and Padraig Harrington picked up Europe's first point of the afternoon, handing another 3-and-2 loss to Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson. But Jim Furyk and Rickie Fowler stole an important half-point for the U.S., making birdie on the final hole to halve the match with Lee Westwood and Martin Kaymer.
