Mild earthquake shakes Bengkulu

JAKARTA: An earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale hit Mukomuko district in Bengkulu on Monday. There were no immediate reports of damage or injury.
The quake epicenter was located 51 kilometers northwest of Mukomuko at a depth of 25 kilometers beneath the sea surface, the Bengkulu Meterology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said, adding that the there was no threat of a tsunami. Bengkulu was hit by a deadly 7.9-magnitude earthquake in 2007. — JP
