AKARTA: Maintenance, repair and overhaul firm PT GMF AeroAsia, part of the Garuda Indonesia Group, signed Monday an aircraft maintenance contract with charter airline Travira Air, GMF said in a statement published Tuesday.
The contract was signed by GMF president director Richard Budihadianto and Travira Air president director Rizwan Halim covering airframes, components, engine maintenance and engineering services until Oct. 4, 2013.
“The long-term contract is beneficial to both companies,” said Richard in the statement.
The contract is expected to increase GMF’s revenue, while Travira Air would increase the availability of its fleet to support the operations of mining companies operating in Indonesia.
“The contract is for a Boeing 737-500 owned by Travira Air,” said GMF vice president sales and marketing Jemsly Hutabarat.
“With a long-term contract, it is easier for Travira to have scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.”
Previously, the aircraft had undergone a C-Check maintenance and components maintenance overhaul at GMF in 2008. — JP
