Former Attorney General Hendarman Supandji used the word “hell” to describe what it was like working at the Attorney General 's Office for 37 years.

“To have a job at a law enforcement institution is like working in a place with fire. It is like hell. We have to pray a lot to avoid trouble,” Hendarman said Wednesday during a farewell ceremony at the AGO in Jakarta as quoted by kompas.com.

Hendarman admitted that he experienced many temptations during his service. He even likened the huge challenge to “a tsunami wave” while he led the institution for about three years.

The huge challenge caused him a psychological burden, said Hendarman, without elaborating.

“I once said it in front of the President that it was hard to work as a law enforcer because only few are satisfied with our law enforcement,” he said.

Hendarman also conveyed his apology for mistakes he had made during his term.
