National flag carrier Garuda Indonesia kicked off on Friday a three-day travel fair, hoping to boost ticket sales.

The Garuda Travel Fair offers affordable tickets for domestic and international destinations. Air fare for a round trip to Singapore and Kuala Lumpur is sold for only US$ 60 each, while a ticket to Bangkok costs $150.

A trip to Perth in Western Australia and Hongkong costs $275 and $250 respectively.

Garuda will also arrange a midnight sale during the fair to sell cheaper tickets for domestic routes, starting from 10 p.m to 12 p.m. During the time, a ticket will be sold between Rp 250,000 ($27) and Rp 750,000.

Garuda President Director Emirsyah Satar said the company aimed to grab Rp 20 billion from ticket sales during the promotional event, up from Rp 14 billion booked last year.

The company expects to lure 31,000 visitors, compared with 21,000 last year.
