Gus Mus mother dies at 87

Ma'rufah Bisri, the mother of noted Muslim intellectual Mustofa Bisri or popularly known as Gus Mus, died on Sunday from an illness. She was 87.
Ma'rufah has been treated in the Arafah Islamic Hospital, Rembang, Central Java until she passed away.
She was survived by three children, Mustofa Bistri, Najihah Bisri, and Atika Bisri. Her body will be laid to rest at her family cemetery in Krapyak, Rembang.
