Djokovic beats Ferrer to retain China Open title

Top-seeded Novak Djokovic beat Davi Ferrer of Spain 6-2, 6-4 on Monday to successfully defend his China Open title.
No. 8 seed Ferrer sought to step up his game in the second set of the match, which was rained out Sunday, but Djokovic proved too much. The Serbian world No. 2 converted four of six break points while being broken only once t wrap up the match in just 1 hour, 24 minutes.
Djokovic improved his record against his Ferrer to five wins and four losses.
On the women's side, new world No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki will play No. 3 Vera Zvonareva later Monday.
Zvonareva has won three of their previous five encounters.
