Case broker gets 1.5 year in prison

The South Jakarta Disctrict Court sentenced former diplomat Sjahril Djohan to one and a half year in jail in a case brokerage on Tuesday.
Sudarwin, the chairman of the panel of judge for the case, also told Sjahril to pay Rp 50 million in fine or serve additional four months in jail.
Sjahril found guilty in the graft case in which he have handed over Rp 500 million (US$55,900) in cash to then National Police’s detective chief Comr. Gen. Susno Duaji.
The money was from Haposan Hutagalung, who wanted the case reported by his client, Singaporean businessman Ho Kian Huat, to be investigated.
