Dozens of victims and families of several bombings in the country laid flowers and held a prayer in remembrance of the first Bali bombing, which occurred eight years ago, at the Bali Bomb Memorial Site on Tuesday morning.

Nyoman Rencini, 39, lost her husband, Ketut Sumarawa, in the 2002 attack. Sumarawa was caught in the explosion as he was driving tourists to Paddy’s Pub in Kuta, which was the target of the attack.

“I have to keep my strength to live my life. Sometimes I feel that I’m strong enough to live without my husband, but my heart cannot lie,” Rencini said with tears in her eyes.

She said she hoped the government would stop terrorism in the country soon.
