Police have arrested six people in North Sumatra and Riau believed to be involved in a drug trade between Indonesia and neighboring country Malaysia, and are hunting for more suspects.

Comr. Gen. Siswandi, National Police's chief of drug crimes subdirectorate, said Wednesday in Pekanbaru, Riau, that the police confiscated 2,000 grams of crystal methamphetamine from the arrested suspects.

“We are still hunting for other suspects, including those in Malaysia, cooperating with the Malaysian police,” he said as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.

The investigation into the international drug trade gang began with the arrest of four men – three Medan citizens and a Malaysian national in Medan on Tuesday.
