Eleven rallies scheduled in Jakarta on Thursday

Traffic Management Center of the Jakarta Police announced that Jakarta will be marked with 11 rallies starting Thursday morning.

The first two protests were scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. at PT Cikarang Dry Port in Bekasi, West Java, and in Tangerang.

Other rallies will be held at Bundaran Hotel Indonesian (HI) traffic circle in Central Jakarta, Depok Prosecutors’ Office and Depok Council; as well as in front of the Attorney General’s Office on Jl. Sultan Hasanudin in South Jakarta, the Manpower and Transportation Ministry, the South Korean Embassy on Jl. Gatot Subroto and the Japanese Embassy on Jl. M.H. Thamrin, starting at 9:30 a.m.

At 10:45 a.m., protesters were scheduled to stage rallies in front of Chinese Embassy, Japanese Embassy and the State-Owned Enterprises Ministry on Jl. Dr. Wahidin, Central Jakarta.

In the afternoon, protests will take place in front of the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry on Jl. Medan Merdeka Selatan in Central Jakarta, the National Logistics Agency on Jl. Gatot Subroto in South Jakarta, and in Bunderan HI as well as on Jl. Medan Merdeka Utara in Central Jakarta.

The last rally will be held in front of the State Palace on Jl. Medan Merdeka Utara in Central Jakarta at 5 p.m.

Motorists are advised to take alternative tracks to avoid possible congestion around the protest sites.
