Overseas companies want
10,000 Indonesian workers

Companies around the globe have requested at least 10,600 workers from Indonesia with about US$51.06 million in remittances per annum, says an official.

“These companies mostly look for construction workers and sailors,” the promotion director of the Manpower Replacement and Protection Agency (BNP2TKI) Endang Sulistyaningsih said Thursday on the sideline of the Trade Expo Indonesia 2010 in Jakarta.

Endang said that demand is also high for ship captions but his office could not meet the demand, Kompas.com reported.
