Textile exports up slightly in 1st 8 months

DENPASAR: The value of textile exports in the January-August period this year was up slightly from the same period last year.
Textile exports had reached US$ 82.8 million as of the end of August, a 14.9 percent increase from the $ 72.1 million booked in the same period last year.
“Our textile products were under pressure from the Chinese products. Ours are better quality but the Chinese products are sold at much cheaper prices,” Bali Trade and Industry Agency chief Gede Darmaja said. — JP
