House used for drug production raided in Tangerang

The Jakarta City Police’s drug unit have raided a house allegedly used to produce crystal methamphetamine (shabu-shabu) pills at Taman Royal housing complex in Cipondoh district, Tangerang municipality.

Officers also sized two brief cases containing drug evidence and arrested three suspects identified as Asnet, his wife Ana and Dradjat alias Roy during the raid on Monday evening.

Chandra Eka, a neighbor, said that the house on Jl. Vinus V No. 58 was rented by Asnet, a Pakistani-Indonesian who claimed to use it for catering business that  supplies food for inmates at the Tangerang Youth penitentiary.

“The raid was held silently last night so that it did not attract neighbors’ attention. Police officers seemed to have observed the house within a couple of days before the raid,” he told The Jakarta Post Tuesday.
