State oil and gas company PT Pertamina has increased supply of the non-subsidized high-octane fuel Pertamax in Greater Jakarta in an attempt to boost sales.
“Gradually we will increase Pertamax supply by 10 percent across the country, but beginning in the Greater Jakarta area,” Pertamina vice president for corporate communication Mochamad Harun said Tuesday.
Pertamina assured that it would not cut supplies of the subsidized low-octane fuel, Premium.
Pertamina cut the price of the non-subsidized high-octane fuel Pertamax by Rp 300 (3 US cents) per liter earlier this week. Pertamax prices also decreased in several other areas by between Rp 300 and Rp 500 per liter.
