PLN promises no more power outages in Jakarta

JAKARTA: State electric utility PT PLN said that it had finished repairing the Kembangan electrical station in West Jakarta, which was thought to be responsible for recent power outages in Jakarta.

“There will be no more power outages, starting today,” PLN spokesman Bambang Dwiyanto said Monday, as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.

A transformer in the Kembangan electrical station was reportedly damaged last Wednesday, and several areas in Jakarta have since suffered through a series of power outages.

The damage also forced the load burden of Kembangan elec-trical station to be transferred to other stations, such as the Balaraja power station, the Cilegon power station in Tangerang and the Gandul power station in Depok. — JP
